The main objective of consumer club is to inform, educate and empower the young student consumers about the rights and responsibilities as consumers and also it is intended to instill in them the spirit of protection of consumer rights. The activities of the consumer club are essay writing on CPA,1986, project report writing on unfair trade practices and consumer day celeberation at Gandhi Bhavan.
National consumer Day – December 2018
National consumer Day was celebrated on 29th December 2018 at Gandhi Bhavan. Namrata Rani K convenor of the consumer club and its members from SAC, attended the celebration of national consumer day. A round table conference was held at Gandhi Bhavan by CREAT with the support of Mr. Muralidharan.
- Area manager of TRAI, 1997 gave many inputs about wireless broadband services and other value added services. She also said that consumer outreach programs had been conducted and mobile app, portal, TRAI website WWW.GOV.IN had been introduced for speedy consumer complaint redressal to solve the problems of mobile and telecom network.
- Regional manger of IRDA of India gave useful information about OMBUDSMAN rules 2017, which would be helpful to policy holders.
- Mr. Nazeer Ahmed, deputy drugs controller, gave legal information about drugs and cosmetics and explained how to file a complaint against any medicine which causes adverse affect on human health, also how it can be solved.
- Dr. Manjunath, Assistant controller legal measurement, Kanakapura gave a detailed explanation on how packaging is done.
